Practical Test Centres Used
We are able to book you a practical motorcycle test at any test centre in the UK. We use all of the local test centres including Bristol Brislington, Bristol Southmead, Trowbridge and Chippenham. You can chose with us which test centre you prefer or the one that gives you the most suitable time that suits your committments.
We have access to all of the test routes, so a mock test can be conducted on an actual test route. You are then given feedback on your performance, exactly as you would be by the DSA examiner.
The Practical Test
The practical motorcycle test consists of the following sections:-
Safety and maintenence questions about your motorcycle.
Practical riding including the special exercises of the emergency stop, U turn, hill start and angled start.
Further safety questions about carring a pillion passenger and questions about riding in poor weather conditions.
Faults are classified as minor (up to 15 allowable), serious (get one and you fail) and dangerous (get one and you fail).
Changes in 2008
From October 2008 the practical test will include a series of manoeuvers that must be carried out successfully before the practical road ride is done. We have ridden the new test and believe that the same skills are needed as the current test BUT there are more opportunites to fail. We will be building a test pad to enable our riders to practice these manoeuvers as many times as they want.
